The City of Melville is moving forward with plans to build a safer route for students and families along Halifax Avenue. City Council has officially approved submitting a full application to the Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ Green Municipal Fund to support the Halifax Avenue Sidewalk Connector and School Pathway Initiative.

The project would create a continuous pedestrian and cycling path on the south side of Halifax Avenue, connecting Main Street to Prince Edward Street. It’s designed to link neighbourhoods with schools, parks, and community facilities while promoting active transportation and reducing emissions.
