BULLITT COUNTY, Ky. —
Drivers in Bullitt County will need to start giving themselves extra time to travel between Shepherdsville and Mount Washington for the next six months.
Crews began working to repair the Floyd's Fork bridge on Bells Mill Road on Monday. According to KYTC, the closure is necessary to repair the bridge's superstructure.
Shepherdsville's Mayor, Jose Cubero, said the move is necessary, though inconvenient.
"Bells Mill Road being closed down, it changes the dynamics of where folks are going to go to get to Preston. So you're going to have half of folks go through Mount Washington, half of that traffic will come here," said Cubero. "It's difficult, especially in a city like Shepherdsville, where we don't have an artery. We have one artery to get out of the city, if some
