With colder weather approaching, the Humane Educational Society is inviting the community to a free winter cat housing workshop this Friday, November 21st.
The event is from noon to 3:00pm at the HES facility at 4155 Randolph Circle. Attendees will learn how to build simple winter shelters for community and feral cats, and can take home free shelters to help protect neighborhood cats as temperatures drop.
HES officials say the workshop is designed to support residents who care for community cat colonies during the winter months.
The organization also offers low-cost spay and neuter services to help manage cat overpopulation and provides free trap rentals for those needing to safely capture feral cats. More information is available on HES' website.
