After a two-week investigation by Waverly police, four juveniles aged 13 and 14 were charged with an early November break-in and theft at the Waverly Sales Barn, we read on the front page of the Nov. 18, 1975, issue of the Bremer County Independent.

“Concerning the cigarettes and candy that were stolen, Police Chief Clarence Wickham said all the cigarettes were smoked and all the candy eaten. ‘We found only a few empty boxes,’ he added.”
