LOGAN – At a special meeting on Nov. 17, the members of the Logan Municipal Council officially confirmed the results of the city municipal election held on Nov. 4.

City council member and local businessman Mark Anderson was recognized as the winner of the mayoral race to replace outgoing Mayor Holly Daines.

In the final count, Anderson earned 4,326 votes, or 58 percent of nearly 7,400 ballots cast.

His challenger, Alanna Hafziger, garnered 3,027 or about 41 percent of city ballots.

The 7,393 total ballots counted in Logan races represented about 37 percent of the 19,822 registered voters in the city, according to Cache County Clerk Bryson Behm, whose staff was responsible for compiling the election results.
