YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK — Just in time for winter travelers to Yellowstone National Park, officials announced the new bridge over the Yellowstone River between Tower Junction and the Lamar Valley has opened to traffic.
The National Park Service announced the opening in a Facebook post on Monday, Nov. 10.
“This major Great American Outdoors Act project is moving into its final phase as crews continue work on overlooks, remove the old bridge, and restore the Lost Creek drainage,” the post said. “The full project is expected to be completed in 2026.”
The bridge, built at a cost of about $118 million, replaced a 60-year-old structure over the river by moving 700 feet upstream and realigning the existing road.
