Tensions remained high Monday as Pittsburgh Public School directors continued to raise concerns over a controversial school closure plan that could receive an official greenlight in just over a week.
Directors, during a meeting in the district’s Oakland administration building that focused on the proposal, at times pushed against each other as they debated how the district should move forward. At the center is the possibility of permanently shuttering nine school buildings, closing several others and reopening them as different schools, and changing grade structures at 10 others.
Directors could vote on the plan next Tuesday.
