Billy Bob Thornton still has love, actually, for Angelina Jolie .

The Landman actor and Maleficent star—who were married from 2000 to 2003—have maintained a close relationship despite their split , as Thornton recently shared.

“Angelina and I had a great time together,” the 70-year-old told Rolling Stone in an interview published Nov. 17. “That was one of the greatest times of my life. She and I are still very, very close friends.”

As the Oscar winner explained, he and Jolie, 50, had “a really civilized breakup” with their split coming as a result of differing lifestyles. And looking back on their marriage now, Thornton —who has been married six times—admits the frenzy surrounding it “was pretty weird.”
