Texarkana business hands out 100 turkeys to those in need

TEXARKANA (KSLA) - A Texarkana business, Crossties, partnered with community members to provide 100 turkeys to people on government assistance.

Texarkana resident Bobby Washington arrived early this morning at Crossties Venue in downtown Texarkana to pick up food.

“The government shut down earlier this month and it’s helping us out because we didn’t receive our stamps,” says Bobby Washington, a resident.

The local business handed out 100 Turkeys and other grocery items to those receiving government food assistance.

Crossties leaders, with the help of community donations, made this possible.

“When the people did not receive their snap benefits in the first part of November, the beginning of the month, so we decided to come together as a team and decide to give out 100 turkeys to famili
