San Diego State could clinch a berth in the Mountain West championship game as soon as this weekend, although SDSU needs four conference games to fall the right way in order to do it.

It first would require the Aztecs (8-2, 5-1 MW) to take care of business against San Jose State (3-7, 2-4) on Saturday night at Snapdragon Stadium. The Aztecs, who have beaten San Jose State nine of the past 11 meetings, are 11 1/2-point favorites in the game.

SDSU would be 6-1 in conference play with a victory, guaranteeing it finishes conference play either 7-1 or 6-2. The Aztecs conclude the season Oct. 28 at New Mexico (7-3, 4-2), which is among five teams tied for second place with 4-2 conference records.
