YAKIMA, Wash. – Dr. David Antonio Becerril, 69, from Coeur d’Alene and formerly of Selah, was found guilty in U.S. District Court in Yakima of conspiracy, fraud and false statements in a telemarketing health care fraud scheme, U.S. Attorney Pete Serrano announced in a release.
Dr. Becerril faces up to 20 years in prison at his sentencing set for January 20, 2026.
Evidence presented in court revealed that from February 2018 to September 2019, Dr. Becerril, a licensed Washington physician, falsely billed Medicare for unnecessary genetic tests and medical equipment. He signed fraudulent orders for elderly beneficiaries, including deceased patients and those without limbs.
