North Texas school district leaders are defending a proposal that would close two elementary schools due to budget constraints.
On Monday night, dozens of families spoke out against the plan at the first Grapevine-Colleyville ISD board meeting since the recommendation was announced.
“Our community is frustrated and exhausted from being kept in the dark,” said Renee Hart.
“Closing a school like Bransford doesn’t show a strong district; it shows a district giving up,” said Maggie Taylor.
In an overflowing room, 70 public speakers took the podium to address the proposal to close Dove and Bransford elementary schools.
