A police incident is blocking Granville Street in all directions at the intersection of Helmcken Street in Vancouver Downtown.

Photos from the scene show that police tape has been put up around surrounding businesses, which have been closed by the Vancouver Police Department (VPD).

Officers are on scene, detouring southbound traffic to Howes Street.

Northbound traffic is detoured via Drake Street to Seymour Street.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area.
