A pedestrian is dead after a hit-and-run in Morgan Park on Monday afternoon, police said.

The 45-year-old pedestrian was hit by a van driving southbound in the 11700 block of South Marshfield Avenue about 4:45 p.m., according to Chicago police. The van fled the scene.

The pedestrian, whose gender wasn’t released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one is in custody, and the Chicago police major accidents unit is investigating.
