GLENDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — A fiery, rollover crash knocked out power to hundreds of homes in a Glendale neighborhood on Monday night.
It happened at 49th and Peoria avenues around 7 p.m.
Dustin Moscato witnessed what happened and told Arizona’s Family that a driver hit an electrical pole, flipped the car and the car exploded. Videos from the scene show flames shooting out from the car.
The car ended up on its roof.
Moscato said the crash happened about 50 yards from him and he heard a loud bang when the wires and pole came down.
He said one person was taken to the hospital.
At the peak of the power outage, about 1,800 SRP customers didn’t have electricity. As of 9 p.m., that number has dropped to 78.
