GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - The longest-serving current member of the Florida Supreme Court is taking on a new job at the University of Florida.
Judge Charles Canady announced his decision to leave the bench on Monday.
In 2026, he will become the director and tenured professor at the UF Hamilton School for Classical and Civic Education.
His vacancy allows Governor Ron DeSantis to name a Supreme Court replacement.
