“Last Week Tonight” host John Oliver is auctioning off some of his show’s most infamous props as part of a fundraiser to support public media stations after the Trump administration cut their funding, according to news outlets.
The move comes after Republicans voted to cut 1.1 billion from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) , which has pushed the CPB toward closure and left hundreds of local PBS and NPR stations at risk, particularly in rural areas.
