KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - It’s almost Christmas time, and East Tennessee Children’s Hospital is hosting their “Tiny Trees” donation.
It’s a tradition that has spanned 15 years where East Tennesseans decorate a tiny tree for a patient in the hospital for the holiday season.
“They are so happy, some of them you walk in and their eyes light up and they’re so bright,” Natalia Havasy, public information officer for ETCH said. “All ages from little two-year-old Sally all the way up to teenagers.”
People decorate their trees with different ornaments and themes, then the hospital gives them to patients based on what they like.
ETCH said they keep the tradition going for a reason.
