Collingwood superstar Nick Daicos has revealed he will hand over his prized No.35 jumper for next year’s State of Origin clash.
Daicos has been named in Victoria’s squad to play Western Australia next year in what is shaping as a star-studded match.
He joins Marcus Bontempelli, Matt Rowell, Zak Butters and Jeremy Cameron as Victoria’s players announced so far.
But should Geelong captain Patrick Dangerfield also be selected, then there will be an interesting subplot on who gets to wear the No.35.
Dangerfield has worn the number in 206 games for the Cats after crossing over from Adelaide where he wore the No.32.
Daicos, meanwhile, has worn it 95 times in his four seasons at the Pies. But the number holds extra significance at Collingwood given father Peter wore it 250 times.
