Reno police have arrested a 35-year-old man after a woman reported being kidnapped and escaping from a vehicle in Reno early Sunday, Nov. 16.
Officers responded to Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center around 4:30 a.m. on a report of suspicious circumstances. Police said the woman’s wrists had been zip-tied and that she got out of the suspect’s truck with help from a passerby.
Detectives identified a black 2025 GMC Sierra believed to have been involved. On Nov. 17, they located the vehicle and arrested Diego Ortega Noria on suspicion of second-degree kidnapping and false imprisonment.
He was booked into the Washoe County jail. Records showed no bail listed as of Monday night.
