TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - A Griffin Middle School student was arrested Monday for bringing a weapon onto campus, according to the Leon County Sheriff’s Office.
The 13-year-old’s backpack was searched after a school resource deputy was told the student had a gun, per LCSO.
“The search revealed a black metal air soft pistol,“ the sheriffs office said in a press release.
The 8th grader was charged with possession of a dangerous weapon on school grounds and taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center.

The arrest comes about a week after a 12-year-old Griffin Middle School student was taken into custody for bringing a BB gun onto the school’s campus.
About a year ago, a 13-year-old Griffin Middle schooler was arrested for bringing a loaded handgun onto campus.
