A 71-year-old Bergen County man has been accused of sexually assaulting a juvenile over a two-year period, officials with the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office said on Monday.

Imri Osmani, of Little Ferry, was charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault, and two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

Authorities begin investigating in June after receiving information that a juvenile had been sexually assaulted on several occasions between May 2018 and May 2020, officials said.

Osmani was charged on July 3 and taken into custody Sunday in Newark by Port Authority police officers and U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents, officials said.

Authorities did not release additional details about the investigation.
