SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -And another 2-loss local team got left out of post season play.
Three weeks ago the Augustana Vikings were ranked 5th in Division II. But a terrible 2nd half against Mankato State led to a 45-21 loss at home. And last Saturday they lost again on the road at Wayne State.
Injuries took a toll on what was a record-setting start for the Vikings at 9-0. And 9-2 is still usually good enough, but 2 losses to finish the season killed their chances. And the big loss to Mankato gave the Mavs the edge despite an 8-3 record.
Minnesota-Duluth (10-1) also was selected from the NSIC.
