Air India to Resume Delhi–Shanghai Flights After Nearly Six Years
Air India has announced the resumption of its nonstop flights between New Delhi and Shanghai (PVG), effective 1 February 2026. It marks the airline’s return to mainland China after nearly six years, according to an official statement by the airline. Subject to regulatory approvals, Air India also plans to launch nonstop flights between Mumbai and Shanghai later in 2026.
The Delhi–Shanghai route will operate four times a week using Boeing 787-8 aircraft. It features 18 flat-bed seats in business class and 238 spacious economy class seats. This makes Shanghai the 48th international destination served by the Air India Group, which continues
