Tollywood’s top filmmaker SS Rajamouli launched the title glimpse of Varanasi in a grand event, but the focus shifted after his comments sparked criticism.

When the large LED screen failed during the show, Rajamouli grew irritated and said, “My father said Lord Hanuman will guide us. Is this how he helps us? I don’t believe in God.” The remark went viral and led to mixed reactions online.

The Rashtriya Vanarasena Sangham has now filed a complaint, stating that his comments hurt their religious sentiments.

They requested police action and warned Rajamouli to be more careful in the future when speaking about gods. Police action and Rajamouli’s response are still awaited.
