The club are working to appoint Kim Hellberg as their next head coach, with the deal now reportedly very close to completion. Boro started their search for a new manager when Rob Edwards made a shock exit to Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier this month.
Despite having only signed a deal until 2028, Edwards left, and Hellberg, the 37-year-old boss of Hammarby IF, emerged as a favourite. Boro are expected to trigger Hellberg's release clause - reportedly around £250,000 - and secure his services in the coming days, pending a work permit.
He is said to have agreed personal terms, and crucially he wants to bring his assistant, David Selini, with him from Hammarby.
