Udaipur, Nov 18: Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt has been booked in an alleged Rs 30 crore fraud case in Udaipur, with an FIR also naming his wife Shwetambari Bhatt and six others. The complaint was filed by Dr Ajay Murdia, founder of Indira IVF, at Bhupalpura Police Station.
As per the FIR, Dr Murdia was allegedly induced to invest over Rs 30 crore after being assured that a proposed film would earn profits of nearly Rs 200 crore. The project was reportedly presented as a biopic meant to honour his late wife. Names such as Mehboob and Dinesh Kataria have also been included among the accused.
Responding to the allegations, Vikram Bhatt told NDTV that he became aware of the FIR only on Monday and dismissed all charges as false.
