WAIANAE (HawaiiNewsNow) - Farrington Highway eastbound was closed Monday evening near Lualualei Naval Road after a motor vehicle crash damaged a street light pole.

According to the state Department of Transportation, the crash occurred near a McDonald’s and left the light pole leaning, creating a safety hazard.

Officials set up a contraflow to allow traffic to move in both directions while the eastbound lanes remained closed.

The state DOT reported the crash on its X account at 7:14 p.m.

It is not clear if anyone was hurt or how many vehicles are involved.
