HYDERABAD: A home that days ago was buzzing with laughter and last-minute packing now sits bolted and cold. The hum has dimmed from a familiar address in city's Vidyanagar. Rooms that held three generations of the Shaik family remain frozen in a journey they never completed. Thousands of miles away in Saudi Arabia, 18 members of the extended family — 11 who lived in the three-storey home and seven visiting relatives — perished in the bus fire en route to Medina, erasing an entire branch of the Shaiks in moments. They had left Hyderabad on Nov 9, led by patriarch Naseeruddin Shaik, 70, a retired railway employee.
