Investigators are searching for a man accused of assaulting a woman who was pushing her 2-year-old child in a stroller in Howell on Monday.

The incident happened shortly before 5 p.m. on Pinewood Road near Cecilia Court when the man came up from behind the woman, put her in a chokehold and pushed her to the ground, according to a statement from the Howell Township Police Department.

When the woman screamed for help, the man ran from the area, police said.

The man was described by police as 5 feet, 8 inches tall with a gray hood, a dark-colored jacket with light-colored stripes on the sleeves, dark pants, and white athletic-style sneakers.
