ESCANABA The Bay College Norse split a men’s and women’s doubleheader here Friday as the women won 123-67 while the men fell for the first time this season 75-68.
The Women wasted no time as they jumped out to a 35-8 lead after one quarter behind 10 first quarter points from sophomore Lauren Zawada. Zawada had 27 points to go along with nine rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Lauren is a very smart player,” Norse women’s coach James Fassett said. “She is an explosive player and once she gets going she is hard to stop.”
Norse sophomore Makenna Hendrickson connected on a 3-pointer to extend the lead to 38-8. Addison Cullen added a layup to extend the lead to 42-8.
