Jammu, Nov 18: Jammu Police and the SMGS Hospital administration on Tuesday intensified inspections of unclaimed and unidentified lockers belonging to staff and doctors as part of heightened security measures following the Delhi blast.
Dr Dara Singh, Medical Superintendent of SMGS Hospital, said the verification exercise was already in progress but has now been scaled up. “Today as well, we broke open the lock of an almirah in the presence of security officials. A four-member committee has been constituted to supervise and conduct these checks,” he said.
Officials said the drive aims to ensure no suspicious or unaccounted items are stored on hospital premises. Additional security measures are likely to continue in the coming days. (Agencies)
