Oscar Piastri captured Australian sport’s highest honour, the Don Award, after a breakthrough year that ignited national pride and elevated him into the elite ranks of Formula One.

The 24-year-old nine-time Grand Prix winner described the recognition as a “massive privilege.”

Meanwhile, Piastri continues his quest to become Australia’s third Formula One world champion after Jack Brabham and Alan Jones. He lost the lead in the title race at last month’s Mexico City Grand Prix and now trails McLaren teammate Lando Norris by 24 points with three races remaining.
