The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has named and filed charges against 10 individuals in connection with smuggling a young Bangladeshi girl into Odisha for trafficking purposes, authorities announced on Tuesday.

Officials indicated the alleged perpetrators enticed the minor with employment promises, only to coerce her into a trafficking ring for monetary gains. Reports suggest the gang preyed upon the dire financial situation of her family to carry out their scheme, highlighting a pervasive human trafficking network compromising regional borders.
