Child endangering: SOM Center Road

At 3 p.m. Nov. 14, officers reported to Aldi, 6217 SOM Center Road, on a report of a vehicle’s engine running with a baby, and no one else, inside.

Officers found the black Mercedes on the north side of the Aldi parking lot. A baby was inside and could be heard crying.

Officers opened the car by using a tool and checked on the baby. They called an ambulance as a precaution, although no treatment was needed.

Officers went inside the store in an attempt to locate the vehicle’s driver. A male exited the store and stated that he was the driver of the vehicle.

Officers cited the man, 28, of Newburgh Heights, for endangering children. The child, a 1-year-old boy, was not harmed.
