Central Coast chief executive Greg Brownlow says interim Mariners coach Warren Moon still has the chance to take charge on a permanent basis despite the ongoing uncertainty about the A-League club’s future.

The Australian Professional Leagues, which runs the A-League, is evaluating a potential investor’s proposal to buy the Mariners from the financially embattled club’s owner, Mike Charlesworth.

The investor is understood to be Sydney Olympic president Damon Hanlin, who is already having an influence on the Mariners’ operations with the unofficial addition of Labinot Haliti to the club’s football department.

Haliti has coached Olympic in recent seasons but is set to be relieved of his duties following the club’s failure to reach the knockout stages of the Australian Championship.
