A brand new television series is coming to Channel 5. Cooper & Fry is a detective drama based on the popular books by Stephen Booth and will star Coronation Street and Downton Abbey actor Robert James-Collier as local DC Cooper, and Doctor Who's Mandip Gill as guarded newcomer Fry.

Much like the best-selling novels, the show follows the mismatched detectives as they work together on a series of unusual cases to get results. Cooper & Fry, which starts on Channel 5 on Tuesday, November 18, will adapt four of Booth's early novels including Black Dog, Dying to Sin, Blind To the Bones and Dancing with the Virgins.

The series is set in the Peak District, in the fictional town of Edendale, but it was actually filmed in Dublin. Starring alsongside Robert and Mandip is Charlotte Bradley, Lorc
