EAST LIVERPOOL Police have arrested a person connected to the case of a severely thin dog found abandoned in East Liverpool on Sunday.
The East Liverpool Police Department announced the arrest late Monday on its social media page, confirming the person is now being held at the Columbiana County Jail. The police did not release the person's name or specific charges.
The dog, which appeared starved with its ribs clearly showing, was found on Ravine Street early Sunday afternoon. Initial reports suggested the animal might have been thrown from a moving vehicle.
East Liverpool Police had shared photos of the dog on Facebook and asked the public for help finding the person responsible for the animal’s poor condition.
Police said that the mistreatment of the dog happened outside the city l
