CLINTON COUNTY, Mo. (KCTV) - Two women were arrested on Friday with a substantial amount of methamphetamine in their possession, state officials allege.

According to documents filed in the Clinton County court system, Alma Ontiveros Alvarado and Ma De L Tornes Herrera, both from North Carolina, were arrested on Nov. 14.

A trooper with the Missouri State Highway Patrol initially pulled them over for following too close and not having a license plate properly displayed on their Nissan Rogue.

In a probable cause statement, the trooper noted that the Nissan’s driver, Ontiveros Alvarado, did not have a valid driver’s license and appeared “unusually nervous.” She and her passenger, Tornes Herrera
