New Delhi : Patiala House Court on Tuesday afternoon remanded Jasir Bilal Wani, believed to be a close associate of suicide bomber Dr Umar, to the custody of the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The NIA had produced him before the court in connection with the blast near the Red Fort in Delhi on November 10.

Wani, alias Danish, was arrested in Srinagar and is believed to have played a technical role in the planning and preparation of the attack. Officials say the court-approved custody will allow investigators to examine his alleged involvement in modifying drones, attempting to develop rockets, and supporting the wider module behind the explosion.
