Police in Mwanza District have arrested 29-year-old Luka Joseph on suspicion of murdering his father, 73-year-old Glariyo Joseph.
According to the district’s deputy police spokesperson, Ritta Mchecheta Nyirongo, the incident followed a visit by the deceased to a traditional healer seeking medicine to address his son’s behavior.
Luka Joseph reportedly became dissatisfied and later told relatives that he had killed his father.
Glariyo Joseph’s body was discovered on Wednesday morning on the verandah of his home in Chimbwinda Village.
An autopsy conducted at Mwanza District Hospital confirmed that he died of head injuries.
Luka Joseph is expected to appear in court soon to face charges related to the murder.
