MAHONING TOWNSHIP, Pa. - The driver of a pickup truck is in the Mercy Hospital trauma unit in Youngstown after being struck by a semi-tractor-trailer in Lawrence County early Tuesday. State Police say it happened after 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Route 433 and Route 635 in Mahoning Township. First Responders say the 20-year-old driver was injured when the semi ran into the side of his pickup truck. The driver, who was trapped in the wreckage, was flown by medical helicopter to Youngstown for treatment. The victim’s name has not been released.
