Balangir: In a major success in the battle against human trafficking, police rescued ten persons, including two children, in Khaprakhol area of Odisha’s Balangir district while they were allegedly being taken to be engaged as labourers in Vijayawada.
As per information, Khaprakhol police carried out the successful operation against illegal human trafficking in the region and rescued ten labourers near Badagurjibhata village. ADVERTISEMENT
Sources said that police also nabbed labour contractor Ghanshyam Sabar and a driver Tawaseer Mohammad at the spot. Preliminary investigation showed that the workers were being trafficked to Vijayawada after being recruited through illegal advances. A vehicle was also seized.
