A South Florida woman is grieving the loss of her 12-year-old dog after a coyote attacked it in Boynton Beach, according to WPBF.
Sandra Ciminelli said she let her three dogs out without leashes around 7 a.m. when the coyote appeared unexpectedly.
Home surveillance footage captured Ciminelli in her driveway, attempting to gather her three small dogs as the coyote circled them.
Ciminelli said she had never seen a coyote in her neighbourhood until recently.
"It came out of nowhere and she was going after all three and there's only one of me," Ciminelli said. "I ran after her, I had my flip flops on and threw them off, I was pulling and pulling, the neighbors heard me screaming."
Despite her efforts to scare the animal away, the coyote lunged and grabbed one of her dogs.
