Seventy-five live birds were killed and others that had already been processed were destroyed in a fire at a New Hampshire turkey farm just one week before Thanksgiving.
The fire broke out overnight in an equipment shed at Hampton's Hurd Farm where their processing operation was housed.

"We are writing to you with heavy hearts today to share some devastating news," the Hurd family said in a letter to its customers posted to Facebook on Tuesday morning. "After a very successful first day of processing yesterday, we are deeply saddened to report that a fire occurred in the equipment shed overnight, where our processing operation was set up. We are incredibly thankful that no one was injured."
