SAN ANTONIO — Autonomous driving company Waymo says its cars will soon be fully operating on San Antonio roads.

Fully autonomous operations started Tuesday in Miami and will begin in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and Orlando over the coming weeks.

The company says it will begin by offering employees fully autonomous trips before opening the service to the public next year. The car operates off a "Waymo Driver" service that adapts to road conditions.

The company says that in cities where the vehicles are already operating, road safety has improved. The company claims there are 11 times fewer serious injury collisions compared to human drivers.
