Man, who was only wearing underwear, attempted to board New Caney ISD school bus

TEXAS – A routine bus pickup turned into a safety response Tuesday morning after a man wearing only underwear attempted to board a New Caney ISD bus.

More than 20 rounds fired at man who drove himself to nearby Jack in the Box after being shot in north Harris Co.

According to the district, a Department of Public Safety officer in the area saw what was happening and stepped in immediately, preventing the man from getting on the bus.

DPS is now handling the investigation.

District officials and New Caney ISD Police say they are fully cooperating with DPS.

No students were harmed, and the district emphasized that student and staff safety remains its top priority.
