Income-eligible Ohio residents can receive one-time assistance with their home energy bill through the state’s Home Energy Assistance Winter Crisis Program.
The program assists people facing service disconnection, those who have already been disconnected, people who need to establish new service, and those who are required to pay for a service transfer, program officials said. It also supports households with 25 percent or less of bulk fuel in their tank to maintain service.
To qualify, households should be at or below 175 percent of the federal poverty level, which for a family of four is $56,262.50.
