Blue Oyster Cult has released some indelible hits during its 53 years of recording — notably “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper,” “Godzilla” and “Burnin’ For You.” But that’s only part of the band’s story.
Formed as Soft White Underbelly during 1967 in Stony Brook, N.Y., BOC has released 16 studio albums — including last year’s “Ghost Stories” — and has been one of rock ‘n’ roll’s most relentless touring acts. Even now, with principals Eric Bloom and Donald “Buck Dharma” Rosier at 80 and 78, respectively, the quintet maintains a steady work schedule, primarily on weekends.
