Voters within the Deer Valley Unified School District have forged a new path to financially support schools.
After two consecutive Novembers of the electorate turning away ballot initiatives to extend the maintenance and operations budget override, final unofficial election results this time around show voters approving the measure.
Two years ago the measure failed by a 55% to 45% margin. One year ago the gap closed to a 53% to 47% defeat.
The result this time shows the “yes” votes with an unofficial winning margin of just 1,512 votes out of more than 50,000 cast.
